Unlike traditional balms, our Star Jelly absorbs rapidly into freshly shaven skin without any greasy, heavy feeling build up! Star Jelly leaves your skin moisturized and silky. Then there is that familiar cool down we all know and love.but something more is going on, something cosmic!

Not to be confused with an alcohol free balm, meaning this stuff still contains alcohol and a kiss of menthol to give you that classic splash feel at first. This brand goes its own direction. If an aftershave balm and alcohol based splash were to have a baby, our Star Jelly Aftershave Formula would be their love child. The whole PAA brand and style is that it's high quality but has a sense of humor and fun. I enjoy them and sometimes pair them with the real thing just for something fun. Like I said, these seem more like flankers than copies. Their take on Old Spice is more floral, their take on Brut has a 'alive' green sparkle and this Aqua Velva version is very much its own thing. I like that the scents they 'recreate' have a slightly different take and aren't just another cheap copy, but rather real care is obviously taken to impress the hobbyists who are looking to get back some of that magic that was lost ages ago. I consider some of what they make 'niche'. Just remember, the style that PAA does their fragrances is "old world" and different than what is normally at the mall counters. This one had a very short release period. I think of it like it's a flanker of Aqua Velva. If you like Aqua Velva, the Sacre Bleu EDP is like a really deep, rich, almost cough syrup strength Aqua Velva but with a touch of spice. Hopefully it will get seasonal treatment but I've heard no promises about that. September 1st this one will "go away" again and might not be back for a long while. Normally I recommend their aftershave splashes over the EDP, but the EDP this time is."special" for lack of a better term.) I know I posted a lot recently about PAA, but since this is probably a rare release, some Aqua Velva junkie might spring $50 for the EDP (I highly recommend the EDP over the splash this time. I figured since I like it so much and it's noticably different from Aqua Velva (it's like someone made a flanker using its DNA for an EDP) I figured I would tell the forum. It was a limited release based on demand from the private Facebook shaving group. So, it's really unknown if they will ever bring it back again (because this one is not tagged as "seasonal").

PAA only brought this back for a short/limited time. I think someone would really appreciate the EDP if they like classic Aqua Velva. What I discovered instead is that the EDP has an almost "cough syrup" density to the smell and the woody/spicy element really brings a depth to the scent when it's this concentrated. I honestly didn't expect much of anything other than just something to "amp up" the Aqua Velva aftershave. And the EDP I just received I got at a discount from a coupon award off their website because I bought a bunch of their stuff recently. This one has a stronger touch of wood and spice in it and isn't quite as 'clean' as the actual Aqual Velva. I don't really post about any "knock offs" but this one is not really like the Aqua Velva on the shelf at stores.
